The customer had issues dealing with overall management, support, and price control working with all three of the major wireless carriers directly (Verizon, AT&T, and T-mobile). Since a large aspect of their business involved providing mobile trailers across the world, a hurdle they have to overcome is making sure that their customers had optimal connectivity wherever the trailer went. Some carriers have better coverage in certain areas than others, so this would lead to having to manually swap sim cards and determine who the best carrier to swap to would be. Carriers also provide hundreds of different pricing plans for their services, so there was no way for them to control their monthly costs or automatically do a breakdown by cost center leading to lots of manual effort from the IT team.

Their multi-carrier SmartSim technology provides universal WAN connectivity with auto-failover across the leading carriers nationwide. Simply put, this single sim card will default connect to the carrier with the best signal, and will switch over to a different carrier should coverage drop in particular places. Advantix being a TEM provider, also solved many cost allocation and management problems for the customer. They now have a predictable monthly cost that is based on usage, so on months of slower business, they will only be charged for the amount of pooled usage across all activated sim cards. Their easy to use customer portal additionally provided greater visibility into their different devices, deployed sims, usage, etc. for better management of their fleet.
